Every one of us wishes that we could have that extra hour of time in our day. All photographers, both professional and amateur, are always looking for ways to cut minutes or seconds off of their editing work flow. Photoshop actions are a great way to accomplish this, as they automate routine tasks that we do so often when working with our photos.
MCP Actions, a well-known provider of great Photoshop actions, has just recently announced the launch of their latest "Finish It" action set. These actions are intended specifically to prepare your images for sharing on the web. Included are actions that can help you automatically add your logo or watermark to images, re-size images to common sizes, round corners, and digitally frame your images. We have put these actions to good use at the lab, and can honestly say that we fully approve of and recommend them!
Installing these actions is a snap. The actions come as a .zip, so un-compress them and then just follow the detailed instructions included in the templates folder.
- The actions work with Photoshop Elements, as well as with all other Photoshop versions CS2 and newer.
- It takes a few minutes for Photoshop to add all the actions, but once they are installed you can apply an action to an image easily by using the drop-down list in the "Effects" area on the right side of the Elements screen, just like you see at right.
What's Included in the Set?
There are 6 different categories of actions in the Finish It set.
- The "Size It" category lets you resize images for web posting and viewing with a single click!
- Add your logo to a wide variety of preset locations with the "Brand It" and "Branding Iron" actions.
- "Build It" helps you add custom -colored areas to your images before posting.
- Use the "Frame It" actions to add 13 different frames to your image in a matter of seconds.
- Rounded corners can be done in the snap of a finger with the "Round It" actions.
If you like the look of these actions, you can check them out at the MCP Actions web site, along with pictures showing some sample uses!

OMGosh! Why don't I need these actions?!
I'm raising 3 kids with a husband that works full time and goes to school full time. Oh, and I'm slowly trying to build a good enough portfolio to get out there and help contribute finacially.
So yeah, I think that about covers why I need them. :)

Why do I need them? Because they ROCK and of course time saving, don't we all need that! I love her actions and this one is really cool.

What a life-saver this can be for me, and exactly what I've been needing for a long time! I'm a big advocate of effective time management (having 2 children under 5 and 2 full time jobs will do that for ya) and these actions fit right into that.
I absolutely adore the rounded corners and the one-click resizing. Jodi's actions top notch!

I love those! My blog is boring. It NEEDs some spice and I need a time saver. I just got Photoshop and I'm still learning how to use it. It would be lovely to have at least one thing already figured out for me.

I love all of Jodi's actions. My photography business is less than a year old. I can't think of a better way to start out with clear and concrete branding than with Jodi's finish it action set. Thank you colorinc and Jodi for pairing up for a great giveaway!

I need these as much as I need my caffeine!! :)

I'm a busy mom and don't usually even bother saving my pictures for the web. If I had an action to do it for me, I probably would start using it. Thanks for the chance to win.

I would love these actions. I have a 10 month old son and a full time job and often my photography gets pushed to the side - especially the editing. The actions would be a huge time saver.
