For those of you who have never heard of Help-Portrait, it truly is an amazing organization.
Founded by celebrity photographer Jeremy Cowart, Help-Portrait is a community of photographers, coming together across the world to use their photography skills to give back to their local community. On or around December 12th, all these photographers will be grabbing their cameras, finding people in need, and taking their picture for printing. When the prints are ready they will get delivered directly to these individuals.
ColorInc has been privileged to partner up with both the Kalamazoo, Michigan and Buffalo, New York groups. While the photographers were handling the bulk of the work, we were more than happy to simply supply the prints to this great cause.
" Photography to me is just simply part of me. I look around at the portraits of my family in my home and think how bare the walls would be without them. I look at images and laugh remembering exactly what was happening at that moment. I can not imagine not having a family portrait in my home, or a picture of myself to document my life, or my kids or my husbands. Being able to give that back to others was something that blessed me back beyond words. People said they felt like “a queen”, or that their “Christmas dreams had come true”. Something huge to them that had been so simple to me."
"We had an amazing team of 4 photographers, barbers, hair and makeup stylists, coordinators and we can not wait to do this again! Of course – without the amazing generosity of Color Inc for printing these families wouldn’t have their finished product! All in all, about 50 families were blessed by Help-Portrait in Buffalo NY."
